If ever there was a sign that the Government should take action on fuel duty and soaring fuel prices, the fact that more and more major transport groups are backing the UK’s biggest fair fuel campaign should be it.

Breakdown specialists the RAC, which has six million members, the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) representing a whopping fleet of 2.5 million cars, vans and trucks, and the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) have become the latest businesses to support the Fair Fuel UK campaign, spearheaded by former haulage business owner Peter Carroll.

These organisations join the Road Haulage Association (RHA) the Freight Transport Association (FTA) and of course, The Fuelcard Company (TFC), in calling for the Government to scrap the 1 April fuel duty increase and introduce a fair fuel duty stabiliser to protect motorists from escalating tax when oil prices rise.

RAC, BVRLA, BMF, RHA, FTA, TFC – so many acronyms, so many millions of drivers and thousands of businesses in strife over fuel prices.
